Sacred Valley Tour begins at 8:00 am. We pick you up from your hotel lobby in our private transportation and begin the tour. The Sacred Valley of the Incas was one of the main production points for the richness of Inca lands and is the place where the best grain of maize is produced in all of Peru. You’ll pass different communities until you reach Awanakancha stop. There will be an exposition of llamas, alpacas, and vicunas in their natural habitat. Afterward, you’ll head over to the Archaeological Center of Pisaq.
Pisaq Inca site is composed of Inca terraces and Inca architectural structures scattered on slopes. We will pass by the Pisaq Artisan market where barter is still practiced to this day. You’ll also visit Pisaq’s main plaza where they sell handmade handicrafts such as woven textiles, jewelry, musical instruments, souvenirs, and much more. After exploring Pisaq, a one hour drive in your private transportation will take you to the town of Urubamba. Here you will have a buffet-style lunch of Andean food.
We then continue our tour to the fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo Inca architecture and design are conserved and declared as a cultural patrimony of Peru. We will immerse in countless stories and history of Inca times. Our last stop will be in one of the renowned oldest towns called Chincheros. This small town is known as the city of Rainbow. It is purely an Inca city that the conquistadors wanted to “civilize” to establish their culture, but never fully achieved to do so.
In Chincheros, the past persists stubbornly as if the spirit of an Ancient culture clings and refuses to disappear. You’ll observe firsthand how native people to this day continue to dye their textiles like their Inca ancestors. After various pictures and a wealth of new knowledge, you will head back to Cusco and be dropped off at your hotel around 6 pm. This concludes your tour.
