The remaining balance for your tour must be paid no later than 45 days before departure. If you wish to pay in cash, your payment is due 72 hours before your tour at our conveniently located office in Cusco. Please note that credit card and PayPal payments are subject to a 5% processing fee.

If you are unable to arrive in Cusco at least 72 hours before your trek for cash payment, we recommend contacting our sales team in advance to arrange alternative payment options.

For day tours that don’t involve Machu Picchu or pre-booked reservations like hotels or entry tickets, you can cancel for free up to 3 days before departure. No stress, no hassle—just adventure at your pace.

Important Note: Cancellations made within 72 hours of departure are non-refundable, so plan ahead to make the most of your trip!

Flexible Payment Options 

Take the worry out of payments! Whether you’re ready to pay in full, prefer installments, or need custom arrangements, we’ll make it work. Plus, all refunds will be processed using the same payment method you used during booking—easy and straightforward.

We highly recommend you obtain travel insurance that covers accidents, rescue and air ambulance, emergency evacuation/repatriation, medical expenses. And unforeseen expenses such as possibly being carried out by (porters) along with your trip.

We also recommend that it cover cancellations and loss of luggage. Once you have purchased travel insurance, please forward a copy of the insurance company name and policy number by email or bring the information when you come into our office.

All explorers under 18 must have an adult companion to guide the journey. Got kids under 17? Great news—discounts may be available to make your trip even sweeter! And for those traveling with tiny adventurers, we’ve got you covered—baby carriers can be provided if you request them ahead of time.

Prices are per person and based on shared tents (two people per tent). A single supplement may apply if you request a personal tent, with an extra charge of $50 USD. Solo travelers will be paired with another solo traveler of the same gender unless otherwise requested.

NOTE: If you require a private hotel room, the cost will be based on the hotel's standard pricing.

Standard rooms feature twin beds and private bathrooms. Double beds or room upgrades are available upon request.

For single occupancy, a supplementary fee of $45 USD per night applies, though rates may vary depending on whether the hotel is 4-star or 5-star.

Please inform us in advance if you have any special requests or would like to arrange an upgrade.

Group tours are limited to a maximum of 8 travelers per guide, as regulated by the government. For groups of 9 or more, two tour guides will be assigned to maintain a personalized and high-quality experience. Inca Trail: Group sizes on the Inca Trail are capped at 16 participants, with a minimum of 2 travelers required to confirm departure. For larger groups, private tours can be arranged to suit your needs. Contact us for a customized quote and let us help you craft an unforgettable adventure.

To ensure a smooth Tour or hiking experience, you must carry your original passport and a valid ISIC card, if applicable. Failure to present the correct original passport stated in your permit will result in the annulment of your permit and denial of trail entrance.

If you obtain a new passport after purchasing your permits, it is necessary to bring the old passport or inform us in writing with a scanned copy of the old passport and your new passport.

This will allow us to provide the Natinal Culture institute with official documentation to prevent any complications. Please note that an administration charge of US$ 20 per person applies for this formal change.

Tipping in Peru is optional and entirely based on your experience. At the end of your tour, you can choose to tip your Porters, Cook, Tour Guide, and driver as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work, enthusiasm, and the quality of service they provided throughout your trip. Feel free to show your gratitude if their efforts made your journey memorable.

NOTE: During the pre-tour briefing, held the day before your adventure begins, we’ll provide tipping guidelines along with your final travel documents to assist you.

Adventure travel carries inherent risks, including illness, injury, and environmental challenges. By choosing to book with us, you acknowledge these risks and willingly accept them as part of your experience.

Tour Leaders Peru's liability is limited to the total amount paid for your booking. We are not responsible for any indirect losses, except as explicitly stated in these terms and conditions.

All services and any related disputes are subject to the laws of Peru. Clients agree that any legal matters will be resolved exclusively through the Peruvian courts.

Prior to participating in any of our treks, it is important that you inform Tour Leaders Peru Travel about any medical conditions or allergies you may have. It is crucial to be in good physical health, and if you have any concerns about your well-being, we recommend consulting with a doctor. For participants aged 69 and above, a current medical certificate is required due to the altitude, as most of our treks reach 4600 masl. We highly recommend acclimatization days (2-3 days) before embarking on the trek, and it is strongly advised to be in good physical condition. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities.
