If our Machu Picchu tour intrigues you and you’re considering booking, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Please be aware that the National Parks authorities regulate visitor numbers to Machu Picchu. With only 2,500 daily permits available, this includes guides.

To ensure optimal availability. Especially during the peak season (June, July, and August). We recommend securing your Machu Picchu permit at least 2 months in advance. In addition, if you’re planning to visit during the off-peak months. We advise securing your Machu Picchu entrance and Huaynapicchu ticket at least three months ahead.

Fly To Cusco and check in at your hotel

Upon confirmation of your booking. Tour Leaders Peru will arrange a private transfer to escort you from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Once you’ve landed at Cusco airport, a representative from Tour Leaders Peru will be there to greet you and guide you on the journey to the historic center of the city.

Your arrival at the hotel will be around mid-day, giving you the rest of the day to relax and explore at your leisure. Given that Cusco is situated at an elevation of 11,300 feet, it’s advisable to take things slowly on your first day to acclimate to the altitude.

However, this is an ideal opportunity to take a stroll around the main square. Visit its numerous coffee shops and stores, or perhaps explore a local museum. Cusco also boasts an array of casual and fine dining options, ready to satisfy any culinary curiosity.

Machu Picchu – Return Train To Cusco

Today we strongly recommend you wake up early in the morning for many reasons. We want you to avoid long lines at the bus station so you can catch one of the first buses to Machu Picchu. It will truly be a beautiful and spectacular view. After two hours of a guided tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the site on your own.

If you have purchased the optional entrance to either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain your tour leader will drop you off at the entrance while you go and explore on your own. You’ll be informe by what time to return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then board the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, depending on your schedule.

Your Tour Leader is going to make sure about your transportation, We will be waiting for you at the site of the Peru rail train Station take you back to Cusco, and drop you off at your respective hotel.

If you would like to spend more time at Machu Picchu, this package can be customized to include an overnight stay in Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu, allowing for a second visit to the ruins — with an optional hike to Huayna Picchu — on the following day. Maras, Moray and Chinchero Private Day Trip from Cusco

Itinerary

To start the Maras Moray & Chinchero Tour we will pick you up from your hotel around 8 AM and head to Moray. The drive is about 1 hour and 20 minutes and is absolutely beautiful. You will drive through the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, through lush yellow fields of wheat, past some villages.

Finally, you will arrive at the fascinating display of terraces in Moray. Moray boasts three amphitheater-like terraces made by the Incas. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth in a bowl shape, were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops.

Maras Salt Mines

When you are done exploring Moray you will head to the salt mines of Maras, which is about 2 miles away. This village is known as a former salt-producing center that is thought to date back to pre-Inca times. There are over 3000 salt pools all carved into the mountainside, being filled daily by a little stream of water.

Chinchero

The last place to visit will be Chinchero. Here we can admire the well-preserved Inka walls of the main square as well as the many altars. We will also visit the beautiful colonial church, unique for its interior artwork and imagery.

Moving on we will participate in a wonderful introduction and learning experience of the art of Andean textiles; throughout the afternoon we will become acquainted with the wisdom of Andean weavings as maintained since long before Inka times.

Explore the historic center of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fascinating Spanish architecture. Start with a scenic tour of the colonial downtown, which emanates from the main square. Stroll over to the 16th-century Cathedral, which took 80 years to construct and was built in the grandiose style of the Spanish Empire.

Visit the Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted by chief conquistador Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of his captains, in 1535. This is the only house from that era that still belongs to the same family.

Stroll around the Pueblo Libre district to the privately owned Larco Museum of pre-Columbian art, housed in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion built over a 7th-century pre-Columbian pyramid. The museum boasts a vast pre-colonial collection of gold and silver artifacts.

In the evening, head to the eclectic “Love Park” in the upscale coastal district of Miraflores, where you can admire a huge kissing statue and beautiful mosaic walls. The park is built on the cliffs of Chorrillos and is a perfect place to enjoy a spectacular sunset over the Pacific.
