Today we strongly recommend you wake up early in the morning for many reasons. We want you to avoid long lines at the bus station so you can catch one of the first buses to Machu Picchu. It will truly be a beautiful and spectacular view.

After two hours of a guided tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the site on your own.
If you have purchased the optional entrance to either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain your tour leader will drop you off at the entrance while you go and explore on your own. You’ll be informed by what time to return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then board the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, depending on your schedule.

Your Tour Leader is going to make sure about your transportation, We will be waiting for you at the site of the Peru rail train Station take you back to Cusco, and drop you off at your respective hotel.

If you would like to spend more time at Machu Picchu, this package can be customized to include an overnight stay in Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu, allowing for a second visit to the ruins with an optional hike to Huayna Picchu on the following day.

To start the Maras Moray & Chinchero Tour we will pick you up from your hotel around 8 AM and head to Moray. The drive is about 1 hour and 20 minutes and is absolutely beautiful. You will drive through the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, through lush yellow fields of wheat, past some villages.

Moray Terraces

Finally, you will arrive at the fascinating display of terraces in Moray. Moray boasts three amphitheater-like terraces made by the Incas. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth in a bowl shape, were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops.

Maras Salt Mines

When you are done exploring Moray you will head to the salt mines of Maras, which is about 2 miles away. This village is known as a former salt-producing center that is thought to date back all the way to pre-Inca times. There are over 3000 salt pools all carved into the mountainside, being filled daily by a little stream of water.

Chinchero

The last place to visit will be Chinchero. Here we can admire the well-preserved Inka walls of the main square as well as the many altars. We will also visit the beautiful colonial church, unique for its interior artwork and imagery.

Moving on we will participate in a wonderful introduction and learning experience of the art of Andean textiles; throughout the afternoon we will become acquainted with the wisdom of Andean weavings as maintained since long before Inka times.
