Machu Picchu by Train 2 Days Tour

The Machu Picchu by Train 2 Days is a tour whre you will take Vistadome Train, this is a popular choice for those that have a short stay in Cusco, Peru, or to those that wish to arrive at the citadel in a more relaxed manner. The most popular train companies to Machu Picchu are Peru Rail and Inca Rail. Both take you to Aguas Calientes town – the city below the archaeological site of Machu Picchu.

You have the option of taking the Expedition Train Service (Standard) or the Vistadome Train Service (Upgrade). The cost of the train is seasonal depending on the month booked and the time slot was chosen to travel. Trip Itinerary

Day 1: City Tour Cusco

You will have the morning free to rest, shop, or do any other personal activities. At 1:00 pm we will meet you in your hotel lobby and commence our tour starting with the Main Plaza of Cusco, also known as Plaza de Armas. Here in this plaza we will also visit the Main Cathedral of Cusco still maintained since the Spanish conquest. We then head to the Qoricancha Museum (Temple of the Sun). This museum was an important place of worship to the Sun God for the Incas. When the Spaniards entered the city they ordered to paint all the walls with religious motifs to hide any Inca designs. After Cusco’s 1950 earthquake, the walls in this museum cracked, and out came to light those Magnificent Inca representations that were hidden for so long. You will enjoy the great history that is described in this place by our expert Tour Leader. After Qoricancha we head to the 4 most.

Important Archaeological sites within the city of Cusco:

Sacsayhuaman: Site of mysterious stone monuments weighing as much as 200 tons! This place is thought to be a fortress in the Inca capital of Cusco. After viewing all the stone structures you will appreciate the strength of this grandiose place.

Tambomachay: Site that was destined as a water sanctuary. You will observe great structures composed of aqueducts, channels, and several waterfalls.

Puca Pucara: Place that stands out because in Incan times it functioned as a military construction site.

Kenko: Site that is presumed to be one of the most important sanctuaries of the Inca.

Your Tour Leader will give you a thorough explanation of all sites visited and answer any questions you may have. After visiting all the sites stated we will transfer you back to your hotel at approximately 6 pm. If time permits you to, we highly suggest you visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is a full 1-day tour. In the end, you will be in awe of the sites visited. Come with TLP Adventure and visit more of Cusco’s wonders!

{If you’d like hiking to see the stunning view at Salkantay lake and one of the seven worlds wonders Machu Picchu while having someone to set your tent and cook your fresh gourmet Peruvian dinners every night, then you have to sign up with Tour leaders Peru. Their tour guide is very fun, friendly, and knowledgeable. Their REI equipment is new and up to date.
{We had a great tour of With Tour Guide Aldo (he's great): Cusco, Sacred Valley, Inca Trail, Machu Picchu. Jose was always there, attentive, hiking in front, back, side, showing us extra ruins on side trails. It was great! For the Amazon, we switched to great naturalist and super birder Jose Antonio and hiked and birded in Manu National Park.
{I have always wanted to see Machu Picchu and when the opportunity came, I didn’t want to pass. My friends and I did the Salkantay Trek with Odon as our main guide and he was just so passionate about telling us the history and the culture behind Machu Picchu. Odon took care of us like we were his children haha, he helped us adjust or feel better with altitude sickness.
{I had an AMAZING time hiking Salkantay Trek with Tour Leaders Peru! Our guides Cesar and Christian were fantastic! You can tell they really love their Peruvian culture and they portray this as they guided us through this trek. All of the other staff were amazing as well including…
{We just got home safely from Peru. We saw the Sacred Valley, hiked the 26 mile Inca Trail for 4 days from 8,000 to 13,800 feet to see the ancient stunning Machu Picchu, learned about Incas, went to the exciting Amazon Rain Forest to see Macaw birds in the wild, shopped at San Pedro’s Market in Cusco, celebrated New Year’s Eve in yellow hats in Cusco...
{I initially booked with Tour Leaders Peru after a recommendation from a friend. I admit I was a little hesitant at first but all of that doubt went away just in the booking process alone. Natalie knows what she’s doing and has actually been to Peru, and has visited the places I…

Daily Seasonal Food on each trip and Tours

Peruvian cuisine has only recently exploded onto the international culinary stage, but Peruvians have always been crazy about their nation’s culinary heritage, and they steadfastly cling to the traditional, multiculti flavors of home. Even in the face of modern gastronomic innovation. A range of climates, from high altitude to low, offers an impressive diversity of produce. Yes, that means potatoes over 3800 kinds but also a variety of corn and other grains, to say nothing of the country’s native aji chilies that are often puréed into sauces.

Coffee, Tea, Water, & Assorted Beverages

Every morning and afternoon, before and after your daily hikes you will find hot drinks and snacks in your dining tent.
